The Beavers came out and executed well against the Bears strong defense. Quaterback
Sean Canfield looked poised as he hit seven targets for 342 yards.
His throws were on the money and he was in control all evening.
I'd be remiss if I didn't give credit to the offensive line, who have gelled
nicely throughout the season. Led by center Alex Linnenkohl, they are
giving Canfield ample time to go through his progressions, which has been a
big reason for his success.
Jacquizz didn't have a huge night production wise, but Cal's defense really
keyed in on both him and James. By having to keep an eye on those two, it opened
up the passing game for Joe Halahuni and Damola Adeniji.
A wonderfully balanced attack and an all around great effort by all involved…all
four quarters.

11 of 18. To me, that is the biggest stat of the night. The Beavers hit on
over 61% of their third down conversions. And believe me, many of those weren't
of the short yardage variety.
Joe Halahuni was huge again, showing his play against USC was no fluke
(not that anyone thought it was). With the defense eyeing Quizz and Quon all
night, Halahuni made the most of it with 6 catches for 128 yards. He would have
gotten the gameball from me…but that's gotta go to Canfield.
Canfield sliced and diced up the Cal secondary for huge yardage. He looked
as smooth as ever out there directing the Beaver offense to a big night. When
it was apparent that Cal was not going to get beat on the ground, Canfield took
matters into his own left hand and made sure they would get beat through the
air. 61% on third down and a 74% completion rate overall will always get it
done.
And what can you say about the O-line? Was Canfield even touched all game?
One Cal fan commented that Canfield and Quizz had enough time for a tea party
back there. This unit has made some amazing strides this year.
