Vols on top for Thomas?
Memphis' Melrose High School has been kind to the Vols in the past. Players like Kevin Taylor, Andre Lott, Cedric Wilson and Ellix Wilson have all contributed to the Tennessee football program.
Running back Tino Thomas, who has offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Duke, Kentucky, among others, may be the next Melrose product in line to join them in wearing the orange in Knoxville. He'll have a chance to be at Neyland Stadium Saturday to check out the Vols' matchup with seventh-ranked Oregon.
"I just want to go up there, support Tennessee and basically see how they come out and play and just hang out with the coaches and talk to the coaches," Thomas said.
Before Thomas heads to Knoxville, he and his Golden Wildcat teammates will try and take care of business against Wooddale. Melrose has lost their first two games of the season, but despite the early struggles Thomas said he is working hard.
