Four star Nichols talks Vols, recruiting
Cuonzo Martin is in the process of guiding his first Tennessee team to the regular season finish line, but the head coach is also hard at work trying to 'crack the code' that's stood between the Vols and recruiting success in the talent rich city of Memphis. Four-star forward Austin Nichols is a focal point for Martin and the Vols' efforts in that direction in the Class of 2013.
Nichols (6-foot-8, 193 pounds), from Briarcrest HS in Memphis, was in attendance as an unofficial visitor in Knoxville to see the Vols' win over Georgia last Saturday, and left impressed with what he saw.
"It was a really good trip, I've been up there a few times already, that was my first chance to see a game since coach Martin was there and it was just a really good day," Nichols said of the visit. "The crowd and the atmosphere in the arena was impressive, I got a chance to visit with Jarnell (Stokes) and talk to the coaches and things, just a good trip all around."
