Vols dive into offseason work
Getting excited about individual offseason workouts less a month after basketball season has ended may not be the most natural response for a player. For Tennessee's returning squad though, there seemed to be no shortage of enthusiasm for getting back in the gym for the start of individual workouts last week.
The Vols' season may have ended in disappointing fashion, but the late season rally that led to a second-place finish in the SEC gave the team a taste of success, and has seemingly left them hungry for more.
"Nobody was happy with the way we ended the season, in the SEC tourney or losing at home to MTSU, but we did some good things in conference play, coming down the stretch, and I think we're all excited to build off of that and take the next step as a basketball team," senior to be Skylar McBee said after the Vols closed their first week of individual workouts. "I think a lot of guys were excited to get back in the gym and get back to work.
