Kendrick elaborates on commitment

With several Division one programs stopping by this spring, Christian Academy of Knoxville offensive lineman Brett Kendrick knew he was on the verge of something special. He knew Tennessee had interest and his performance at camp very well could determine if he got an offer from the hometown team. Saturday, Kendrick had the butterflies both before and after camp.

"I felt the pressure more than ever before," Kendrick said. "It's probably the most nervous I've gotten when it comes to football. I knew it was a big deal to me and my parents too for all they have done for me. I'm just glad that I showed I can play at this level."

Kendrick loves competition. He's grown up playing at a high level with an older brother who knew how to push him. Camp was all that he thought it would be and more, but the Tennessee staff didn't allow him to go through the motions.
