Talented Thornwell talks Vols, recruiting

The in-state talent in the state of Tennessee in the Class of 2013 is more than deep enough to provide the Vols with a well-stocked recruiting board. That doesn't mean that some out-of-state efforts aren't underway though, and high-flying shooting guard Sindarius Thornwell from Lancaster, S.C. is one example of this approach.

Thornwell (6-foot-5, 180 pounds) entered this summer as a high-profile prospect and had done nothing to change that perception. He had a shot at measuring himself against some of the best talent in the nation last week at the NBA Players' Association Top-100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va. Not only did Thornwell show he belonged in such elite company, he proved himself to be one of the most explosive scorers in the camp.

Colleges are lining up to give Thornwell the chance to play with them in the future. What was already a solid offer list before his junior season was even over has been growing steadily since the spring evaluation period ended.

Rivals.com rates Thornwell as a four-star prospect and the No. 36 overall player in the nation.
