Early 2014 Hoops Hot Board

College basketball recruiting is about to go into high gear when the July evaluation period kicks off next week. When coaches hit the road, a great deal of their attention will be focused on the 2014 class as many programs look to get a jump start next year. With that in mind, here's an early look at our 2014 hot board for Tennessee.


As always, this is not any sort of 'official' board and is comprised from our own research and opinions based on talking with prospects and other analysts from around the rivals.com network.


Today we'll start the board off with seven names in the 2014 Class that have already received heavy interest from Tennessee, and in most cases, a scholarship offer as well.


Keep in mind that this list will no doubt change dramatically, starting perhaps as early as next month. We'll start the list off with seven names, headed by two in-state prospects that both have a chance to be national recruits by this time next year.


The 2013 Hoops Hot Board




Jaylen Lindsey

Small Forward
6-foot-7, 180 pounds
Christ Presbyterian Academy, Nashville Tn.

Lindsey has been a familiar name in recruiting circles since he started for CPA's varsity team as an eighth-grader. His subsequent development has done little to dampen the expectations surrounding him. Lindsey was one of a handful of underclassmen invitees to June's NBA Players' Association Top-100 Camp, where he held his own against an impressive array of talent. Still needs to work on expanding his floor game, but has all the tools to be a high-major player. Tennessee has recruited him hard from the moment Cuonzo Martin got the job. The majority of the SEC has offered as well with elites such as Kansas, Kentucky and UNC showing interest.
