McRae bearing down this summer

VolQuest.com Basing any long term opinions on a what you've seen in the Pilot Rocky Top League is a famously dicey. Uneven competition and a loose approach to defense lend themselves to some cartoonish stat lines, making serious evaluation a guessing game at best. So, summer-time assessments shouldn't be written in stone, one player who looks as though he's made some strides in his game is junior Jordan McRae.
McRae closed out his Rocky Top experience by dropping in 64 and 47 points in the final two contests, the last effort coming in a championship game loss. Those kind of numbers obviously need to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's not much of a reach to wonder if McRae isn't ready to take his game up a notch.
"I don't make too much of those numbers, it's not the same as putting those stats up in an SEC game or anything, but it does give you some confidence just to feel like you're playing well, to see that different parts of your game are improving," McRae said of his strong finish in the summer league. "I guess what I felt the best about was the number of shots I took, like when I had 64 I think I just had 27 shots.
