Lane looks to get rolling tonight

Last Saturday, sophomore running back Marlin Lane had 8 carries for 34 yards in the Vols first scrimmage. That production last season would have led the team in yards against Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida. But at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, it was good for fourth on the team.

Rajion Neal had 9 carries for 134 yards, Devrin Young had 36 yards and a score on 7 carries, and freshman Quenshaun Watson had 60 yards on 10 touches.

As the Vols scrimmage under the lights tonight at Neyland Stadium, conventional wisdom says it's a big night for Lane to show himself. The Florida native feels it's a big night for everyone.

"It's pretty big," Lane said. "It's just going out there and showing what we learned for two weeks of fall camp and getting it done without the coaches on the field helping us.
