TE Wilson sorting through things
High School football kicked off in the state of North Carolina last week, but that wasn't the case for Winston Salem tight end Lucas Wilson and his Mount Tabor team. They will get their season underway this Friday night and he's amped for the opportunity.
"I'm very excited and I've been looking forward to it all summer and all off season," Wilson said. "I'm ready to get out there and play a real game. I can't wait and it makes it exciting that I think we can have big year."
Mount Tabor lost a great deal from last season, but that doesn't change the outlook in Wilson's eyes. He always dreams big and he's worked hard this offseason to make sure his senior season could be memorable.
"We lost a lot of guys last year, but I'm hopeful," Wilson said. "I'm the only returning starter on offense, but we've made more progress than people thought this summer. I think we have the potential to have a big year. Our quarterback has really stepped up and he's worked on the little things like relationships with his receivers. I feel like we will surprise some people."
