Vols' polishing special teams, more notes

VolQuest.com Special teams and tight ends coach Charlie Coiner said the Vols will utilize both Devrin Young and Cordarrelle Patterson on kickoffs and that they have full confidence in Justin Hunter if Hunter is used some on punt returns.
"No holding back. I think it's the same, whatever he has the ability to do on offense we think he has the ability to do there. We've seen nothing on offense that makes us believe Justin Hunter isn't 100 percent," Coiner said. "He's ready to go. So that's the way we feel about him back there, and in any phase we need him to be honest."
Coiner said UT's coaches also believe strongly in attempting to get their top playmakers additional touches in games via special teams.
"Patterson is one of our kickoff return guys, yes," Coiner said. "... You just ask about two explosive guys. I don't know; how many times does an explosive receiver catch the ball in a game? I don't know. But if I told you a receiver had seven or eight catches coming after Friday night, you'd say 'OK.' Well we can almost guarantee that the ball will end up in their hands on this (special teams) play.
