Hoops target talks visit

VolQuest.com Football season is about to swing into high gear, but important work is also afoot on the basketball front. Tennessee hosted its first official visitor of the fall this past weekend, Bufurd, Ga. forward A.J. Davis, and in class where length and athleticism are at a premium, Davis has emerged as a prime target.
Davis (6-foot-8, 190 pounds) was making his own first official visit, and came away impressed with what he saw in Knoxville.
With Tennessee set to lose significant size from the line-up when Jeronne Maymon and Kenny Hall depart after the upcoming season, along with reserve Dwight Miller, adding size to the class is at a premium. Davis isn't a low-post presence in the mold of Maymon or Hall, but he is a versatile athlete who can crash the glass, knock down face up jumpers and handle the ball on the wing.
Rivals.com rates Davis as a three-star prospect.
