Brice's Off the Beaten Path

It's year five of "Off the Beaten Path," and it had been five years since Tennessee had been ranked during the season until it cracked this week's Associated Press Top 25 at No. 23.


There are five Florida Vols in Tennessee's two-deep depth chart listed this week for the battle against Florida, including projected starters on defense Mo Couch, from Orlando, and Curt Maggitt, a West Palm Beach native.


Five times against Georgia State, Tennessee's offense engineered scoring drives that elapsed 90 seconds or less off the game clock.


Florida's offense last week at Texas A&M allowed quarterback Jeff Driskel to be sacked five times, but the Gators have scored on five of their six trips into the red zone.


Lastly, the Vols have had five different offensive starters score touchdowns through the first two games: Cordarrelle Patterson, Zach Rogers, Rajion Neal, Justin Hunter and Mychal Rivera.
