Vols close Monday with second commit

The Tennessee basketball program started Monday morning off on an unbelievable high-note with a commitment from five-star shooting guard Robert Hubbs. The staff closed the day with the same kind of a flourish, snagging a commitment from Buford, Ga. forward A.J. Davis.

Davis (6-foot-8, 200 pounds) visited the Vols last weekend (Sept. 8) and picked Tennessee over Clemson and Georgia Tech among others.

The son of former NBA standout Antonio Davis, the Atlanta-area native was impressed with what he saw in Knoxville on his official visit and nearly pulled the trigger on a decision at that point. However, it was important for him to be sure he wasn't making a knee-jerk decision based on emotion, and he wanted something to compare his experience to Knoxville with.
