BAYAMON, Puerto Rico -- Tennessee (3-1) wrapped up it's Puerto Rican road trip in style this evening, cruising by UMASS (2-2) 83-69 in the third-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Vols bounced back from an ugly performance on Friday afternoon in a big way and can head back home with some momentum.
Tennessee got pushed by the Minutemen in this one, but completely controlled final 10 minutes of the game, breaking open what had been a back-and-forth contest for the first 30 minutes of play.
Jarnell Stokes was a huge factor all afternoon and finished with a career high 24 points and 12 rebounds, recording his second double-double of the young season. The Vols got 12 points from Jordan McRae, who played 31 minutes of the bench and went 2-of-4 from three point range. Trae Golden and Josh Richardson both added 11 points.
Richardson added a career high nine rebounds while Golden's most impressive feat was probably playing 29 minutes against an up-tempo team and committing just one turnover while handing out six assists.
