Jones' style inspires loyalty, continuity

VolQuest.com Just what the Tennessee football program will look like under new head coach Butch Jones is something that fans will spend all offseason debating. One thing that seems clear from Jones' track record though is this, once he does get the ball rolling in Knoxville, fans can expect to see a program that exhibits some stability.
The coaching profession, especially at the assistant level is not typically a prime example of continuity. Job-hopping among assistant coaches is an annual offseason tradition fueled as much--if not more-by ambition as it is by head coach movement.
Jones, like everyone in the profession, has experienced some attrition on his staff over his six years as a head coach. However, he's also had an unusually high number of assistant coaches sign on with him for the long haul. A sign that he's a good guy to work for, but also maybe an indication that those around him view him as someone that's going places, and hitching their own wagon to his career might not be a bad idea.
