Vols look for fourth straight tonight

Tennessee (7-3) has a chance to start to generate some real momentum for the first time this season if the Vols can get by visiting Xavier (7-4) tonight for what would be a fourth straight win. This is one of just two remaining match-ups before SEC play commences, making it an excellent time for this team to start hitting its stride.

From a fan's perspective, 'hitting their stride' for this team would consist of some more consistently explosive play on the offensive end of the floor.

Scoring points, especially against quality competition, has been a much-discussed problem for this team. In their three losses, to Oklahoma State, Georgetown and Virginia, the Vols have averaged just 39.9 points.

It's worth noting that those three losses where all on the road or a neutral court, and in their most recent outing against a ranked foe, a 69-60 win over Wichita State in Knoxville, the Vols were good enough on offense to beat a good team.
