Maymon disappointed, but relieved by decision

VolQuest.com The ongoing drama surrounding the state of All-SEC forward Jeronne Maymon's left knee finally reached a resolution this weekend. In an announcement that wasn't exactly a surprise, Cuonzo Martin announced on Sunday that the senior would redshirt this season and return to the team in 2013-14.
Maymon, who had what Martin and Tennessee representatives have only termed 'setback' on the surgically repaired knee, has never practiced with the team since the start of camp back in October.
Even if he had gotten clearance from the medical staff to rejoin the team in the near future, at this late date on the calendar, simply getting into game shape after such a long layoff would have been a challenge.
In the end, sitting out the remainder of this season with an eye towards getting completely healthy for next year was a sound move, and frankly, the only thing that made sense.
