Up close with Ramone Johnson

One of the most followed recruitments of this past recruiting season was that of offensive tackle Ramone Johnson. The 6-foot-4, 315 pound offensive tackle made the Vols very happy when he signed with the Big Orange in February. For Johnson, it was all about southern hospitality that landed him in Knoxville.

Since signing with the Vols, admits he has been focused on his schoolwork, but acknowledges that his mind never drifts far from wearing orange.

"I think about it every day," Johnson said. "I have just been working out and jogging so that I am ready when I get there in July."

Johnson, who was one of the top five rated players in the state of Illinois last year, was in Knoxville for Tennessee's orange and white spring game and that just further fueled his desire to move in on campus.

"I had a good time down there hanging out with everyone," Johnson said. "I love the southern hospitality. Everyone treats you so well. And they have a good team, but they need some help on the offensive line and that is where I come in. I think I can come in and help them out some this fall."
