Tatum, Texas, High School RB Lennon Creer is almost ready to announce his decision.

"I want to get it over with," the 6-foot-1, 202-pounder with 4.4-second speed says. "Maybe in August."

Miami remains hot on Creer's trail.

"I talked to coach (Todd) Berry last week," said Creer, who has a Cane offer. "He said the 2006 recruiting class has just come in and they were going to be a good team in the future."

Creer estimates he's talking regularly with "six or seven" college coaches this summer.

He has narrowed down his list to a top five of Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida and Oklahoma State.
