Smith can build on big day of practice

Heading into the 2006 season, Arizona's offense looks to be ready to put up the biggest numbers the UA has seen in years.


To start, there are stars at quarterback (Willie Tuitama) and wide receiver (Mike Thomas), as well as a standout tight end (Brad Wood). There is reason to believe there will be improvement at offensive line and a there are a couple of freshmen who look very impressive at fullback, along with a returning sophomore.


The only question mark is running back but the good news is that Arizona has so many players competing at that position that one of them is bound to step up and become the man. On Monday, redshirt freshman Xavier Smith took a big step towards doing just that.
