FSU looking to Jacksonville for RB help
Florida State has never had a player on its the roster from First Coast High School in Jacksonville. But there's a good chance that trend will change in 2008 thanks to the recruiting efforts of new assistant coach Lawrence Dawsey.
Florida State has already extended an offer to Buccaneer linebacker Nigel Carr and are taking a closer look at fellow linebacker Shaq Wilson. Over the weekend, a second FSU offer was extended to a Buccaneer, but this time it was on the offensive side of the ball.
"Florida State offered me on Friday night," running back Jermaine Thomas told Warchant.com. "They were my sixth offer. I have offers from Minnesota, South Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Florida State."
