Beaver considering Frogs?

It's been said for some time that TCU is right there on the door step. They have been close so many times over the last few years to busting down the door to a BCS game but have fallen short each time. The program has continued it's upward climb into the ranks of college football's elite programs and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. The one thing that's been said to hold TCU back in the past was the presence of an elite quarterback. Two years ago after former Northern Illinois coach Joe Novak witnessed his team, featuring All-American running back Garrett Wolfe, get dismantled by TCU 37-7, Novak had this to proclaim. "We played Ohio State earlier in the year and the only difference I saw between TCU and Ohio State was the Buckeyes had Troy Smith at quarterback. I think TCU even had more speed than Ohio State did. That's the fastest team we've played against."

So my question to you is this. If TCU added a Troy Smith type quarterback to the mix, could it be the final piece to the puzzle for the Frogs? Enter Shavodrick Beaver (6-2, 180), the talented QB from Wichita Falls. With the duel threat ability that he possesses, Beaver could be that final piece of the puzzle the Frogs have been looking for. With offers from TCU, Nebraska, Arizona and Tulsa to date, Beaver is on the radar of several other top programs across the country. Even though the Frogs have already secured a commitment from Rivals 250 member, Casey Pachall, it doesn't seem to bother Beaver. If anything it seems like the two wouldn't mind playing together at the next level. Pachall and Beaver have stayed in contact since the very first TCU junior day and have been texting each other recently.

"Even though Casey committed, I'm still considering TCU" said Beaver. "I've been texting with him lately and we were talking about how it would be cool if we were the next Andy(Dalton) and Marcus(Jackson)."

The way the Horned Frogs have successfully used two quarterbacks has caught Beaver's eye. He likes the way the signal callers compliment each other with their varying styles of play.

"I like how they(TCU) use Dalton and Jackson, I think it would work out well if I were to end up there with Casey."

With spring ball a little past the half way point for the Frogs and with 7 commitments in the bag, it looks like a Nationally ranked class is being assembled by the good guys in Ft. Worth. So when will Beaver decide if he'll join Pachall and the other committed 09' prospects?

"I'm going to be making a decision pretty soon. I have a pretty good idea about what I want to do but I'm not ready to do it just yet."

With Beaver stating that he would like to make a decision by the end of his team's spring practices, are the Frogs in his top 5?

"I don't want to name a top 5 because I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. I'm not going to name my favorite right now but I have a pretty good idea about where I'll go."
