Vols Hit Practice Field Early Monday
After a day off, Tennessee returned to the practice field early on Monday morning to begin the second week of fall camp. For coaches and players alike, the focus of the 'shorts and shoulder pads' workout was to correcting mistakes and fine-tuning things that had shown up on film study after Saturday's scrimmage.
Everyone on both sides of the ball left Saturday with a clearer picture what work needed to be done. Most of the assistant coaches left Neyland Stadium feeling as though their groups had made some strides, but also more mindful of what specific areas needed to be 'coached up' a little harder on the practice field this week.
Offensive line coach Greg Adkins' response to Saturday's work reflected the sentiments of most of the rest of the staff.
"We have our whole offense in now. There was some good and some bad on Saturday. What we have to do is make sure that we don't have so many ebbs and flows. There was some good execution out here today but there was some poor execution too. I think taking the peaks and valleys out of that is the most important thing right now.
