Next Stop Athens, Thursday Notes

Tennessee (2-3, 0-2) heads to No. 10 Georgia (4-1, 1-1) on Saturday with any number of questions. Most of those questions center around an offense that has been among the worst in the SEC in the first month of the season and a quarterback making his first career road start.

Thursday night wrapped up Nick Stephens first week as the starting quarterback on the practice field after splitting reps with Jonathan Crompton last week.

The reasonable hope from both coaches and fans is that the week will lead to some noticeable improvement in a player making his second career start.

Offensive coordinator Dave Clawson noted on Thursday that he'd seen signs of growth in Stephens already.
