Top 2011 LB Loves Vols
With so much talent on the Tennessee campus it was easy for even some talented prospects to go under the radar. Even in a crowded field and against older players however, 2011 linebacker A.J. Johnson had no problems getting noticed. Which is not exactly surprising for a player drawing early raves as one of the top defensive prospects in the South among rising juniors.
Johnson (6-foot-2, 212 pounds), from Gainesville, Ga. just wrapped up his sophomore year of high school but he's already a familiar name to college football coaches all across the South.
He's been holding a firm offer from Tennessee since even before the April evaluation window--which tells you something about how impressive his sophomore season was--and showed why with his athleticism and physicality during Tuesday's skill camp work.
