Neuheisel talks Wednesday's practice
It was another high energy affair on Spaulding Field Wednesday as the Bruins tune up for a very important game against Cal on Saturday. The Bruins are on a three game winning streak and they are practicing like it. This test on Saturday is going to tell Bruin fans a lot about their football team. UCLA has not had a lot of success in Berkeley of late, so if they can go in and get a surprising win, it would be huge for the program.
UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel is definitely very pleased with what he is seeing this week in practice. Of course practice is not the game and the Bruins must transfer this effort they have demonstrated this week to Saturday.
As always, Neuheisel meets the press after practice.
Neuheisel: “Thankful that the weather cleared so that we could get some work done. Our grass field was still a little bit under water so we had to get onto the artificial surface, but I thought we really worked hard and didn’t make any excuses about being in cramped quarters. I thought we had another good practice, which is absolutely necessary to play your best when you are getting ready to play a quality opponent like the University of California.
“I’m excited about where are and we have a lot to do between now and Saturday, but I like the mental approach the kids are taking it thus far and hopefully we will sharpen up more tomorrow.”
