Vols flustered by Hoya zone

VolQuest.com WASHINGTON-- There were very little in the way of positives--at least on the offensive side--to take away from Tennessee's 37-36 loss to Georgetown tonight in the SEC/Big East Challenge. The Vols had an abysmal shooting night, one for the ages really, and head back to Knoxville with some clear work to do on the offensive end of the court.
On the other side of the ball though the Vols were just outstanding. The 37 points Georgetown scored where the fewest for an opponent in the shot-clock era, and while Tennessee played about as badly as it seems they possibly could on offense, the Vols still had the ball and a chance to win the game on the final play of the night.
This isn't horseshoes or hand-grenades though, so close doesn't count and moral victories don't show up in the box-score. Something Cuonzo Martin knows all too well.
