Tennessee wide receivers coach and assistant head coach Trooper Taylor has confirmed that he is leaving Tennessee to accept the co-offensive coordinator position at Oklahoma State.

Taylor informed head coach Phillip Fulmer of his decision late this afternoon.

"I felt like this was the best move for my career and my family," Taylor said.

Taylor would not give the financial details of the deal, but he will stay through the Outback Bowl in Tampa.

Taylor came to Tennessee in January of 2004 from Tulane as the running backs coach. In that season, both Cedric Houston and Gerald Riggs rushed for a thousand yards.

In 2006, Taylor moved over to coach wide receivers after the dismissal of Pat Washington. Under his tutelage, Robert Meachem had a 1,000 yards receiving and became a first round draft pick of the Saints.

This season, Taylor had another 1,000 yard receiver in Lucas Taylor.
