I dont believe that the 5-7 crowd believes this. They are just hedging their bets, playing it safe, and positions themselves for:
"i hoped i was wrong, but i guess i was right. what did you expect?"
Has anyone heard of a self fufilling prophecy? That is what that type of thought can do. I sure hope the team expects to go 8-4.

Right... just like the 8 - 4 crowd is positioning themselves for the "I love my Vols and will bet for them anyday of the week! You obviously don't bleed Orange like I do b/c you said they would go 5-7... and even though that turned out to be true I proved my loyalty b/c I believed in them more! I say we can get get 4 of the toss-ups to go 7-5. Don't even want to consider a bowl game at the moment.

Season Predictions: - One arrest during season - something minor such as underage consumption following upset of Oregon.
- Chris Simms shocks world, 2nd Team All-SEC. Plays good enough Vols picked second in East next year.
- Three Freshman All-Americas on the team.
- Each loss (FL, Bama, LSU, UGA) by less than 10 points. Dooley criticized mid-season for letting Lincoln attempt and miss game-winning FG opportunity against Bama at home. Palardy handles duties full-time remainder of season.
- Janzen Jackson, Gerald Jones, Luke Stocker, Eric Gordon and Tauren Poole earn All-SEC honors with Simms.
- Fulmer does radio interview praising Dooley, yet saying Vols could've been competing for title under "different circumstances."

Cheering like a Crazy MOFO for each one of these:
Wins: UTM, UAB, Georgia, South Carolina, Memphis, Ole Miss, Vandy, Kentucky, and we beat Ok State in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport.
Losses: Oregon,Fla (closer than most think), Bama, LSU
I think that's 9-4. We lose early, then start rolling by end of the year with our new kids coming on strong. James, Hunter, Gordon, and Corey Miller are voted all-SEC freshman team.
