Week-3 recap: Grading the Gators

The Florida Gators still are a bit inconsistent, but when you beat Tennessee on the road by two touchdowns it's difficult to complain. In the wake of Florida's 31-17 win at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, we hand out grades to each unit of the team.

THE BACKFIELD
This group had mixed results. Quarterback John Brantley threw for only 167 yards and one touchdown. But while he missed a few open receivers, but once again didn't throw an interception (he hasn't been picked this season. Tailback Jeff Demps was averaging 12 yards per rush entering the game, but was held to 73 yards on 26 carries, or 2.8 yards per rush. He did, however, add 34 receiving yards and 70 more yards on kickoff returns. Tailback Mike Gillislee had two rushing touchdowns and backup quarterback added another rushing score. The backs ran hard, but weren't overly sharp. Final grade -- B-
