Vols anxious for opener

With enough veterans back from an Elite Eight run and some intriguing newcomers tossed into the mix, Tennessee's opener tonight against Chattanooga was already an eagerly awaited affair for Vol fans. That anticipation comes with at least a slight dose of anxiety now after Monday's exhibition loss raised some questions about Bruce Pearl's team.

Some might have expected Pearl to spend all week ranting and raving in practice, making sure his squad was suitably embarrassed over being ripped by 15 at home against a Division II foe.

There was certainly some of that behind closed doors and in a 5:30 a.m film session Tuesday morning after the loss. On the practice floor though the head coach has been far more interested in making sure the mistakes that led to Monday's debacle aren't repeated, rather than rehashing the meltdown itself.
