Point guard discusses Vol visit

With the start of basketball practice scant days away new Tennessee head coach Cuonzo Martin and his staff are hard at work trying to put together their 2012 recruiting class. Towards that end the Vols hosted a trio of official visitors over the weekend, including point guard Adonis Filer from Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts.

Filer (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) ) is originally from Hammond, Ind. but is playing his senior at the well-regarded East Coast prep school. His visit to Knoxville this weekend wasn't his first trip to campus, but it was his first look at the new program under Martin.

"I had been down there once before for camp a couple of years ago, so I had seen the campus, but I got a lot better feel for everything on this trip and of course got to spend a lot of time with the coaching staff," Filer said of his visit.

Rivals.com rates Filer as a three-star prospect and the No. 117 overall player in the Class of 2012.
