Data coverage helps Ansley teach DBs
The text had Prentiss Waggner wondering what he was seeing. Or, more precisely, not seeing.
First-year cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley had texted Tennessee's veteran-most defensive back, and it wasn't a sight for sore eyes.
"The first time coach Ansley texted me, I think it was like a horrible text. I think it was after the first practice and he sent me a text that was like, 'You have horrible eyes.' And when he texted me that, I knew he was going to be hard on me and I knew he was going to coach me hard," said Waggner, a versatile senior who can play cornerback, safety and nickleback in the Vols' defense. "That's one thing I accept real well. After he sent me that text, every practice I come out here and try to get better. Just focus on my eyes and my techniques and try to get better."
