Football focused Dooley excited about his Vols

From the balcony outside his office head coach Derek Dooley sees progress, it comes in the form of destruction as construction crews knock out walls where the new football building attaches for the Neyland-Thompson Sports Complex. Down the hall, the offices of his assistant coaches are mostly empty as the staff is on the recruiting trail. But Dooley sees progress in his program from those who occupy them. Downstairs in his team locker room, Dooley feels like his team has made plenty of progress from what he simply describes as a "bad fall in all areas".

As Volquest sat down with Dooley Monday afternoon, the head coach was as relaxed as ever in discussing a variety of topics from academics, to spring progress, Twitter and the removal of anchors.

Volquest: Where are you a better football team now than you were at the end of last season? Where are you tangibly better?
