LSU hosting top out-of-state talent
One of the top wide receiver prospects in this year's class, a star safety from the Lone Star State and a handful of the top line prospects in the nation are expected to make official visits to LSU this weekend.
The interesting part about this visitors weekend for the likely Rose Bowl-bound Bayou Bengals is that all five of the prospects scheduled to be on campus are from out-of-state. Everyone who follows LSU football knows that most of the programs' talent comes from the Pelican State, but it's out-of-state appeal has skyrocketed in recent years, thanks to the 2003 National Championship (which completed the rebirth of the program), upgraded facilities and the program reaching a higher level of visibility on a regional and national scale.
Five-star wide receiver Terrance Toliver of Hempstead (Texas) has had the Tigers at or near the top of his list for some time. The stiffest competition here is Oklahoma and Southern California. Toliver seemed to enjoy his trip to Los Angeles last week.
