Touted safety Randolph talks UT trip
Marietta, Ga., free safety Brian Randolph had certainly seen Knoxville before. The summertime commitment has seen his stock soar through the fall and winter, and this weekend the Vols' stock with Randolph soared.
“It went really good,” Randolph said. “I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches. The visit was all I wanted it to be. I have really felt good about Tennessee for a while. This weekend it felt like home more than ever before.”
The 6-0, 180-pound safety also spent time over the weekend trying to make other recruits feel like it was home.
“Yeah, I tried to recruit some of those guys,” Randolph said. “I spent a lot of time with Rory Anderson.”
And while Randolph was doing some recruiting, he also was making sure the trip was about him as well. And the one thing about his most recent visit to Rocky Top was why he felt so comfortable.
“It was my future teammates,” Randolph said of what stood out most about his visit. “The guys who will be my teammates next year welcomed me. They made me feel like I was already on the team. It made for a great weekend.”
Randolph's early decision has made for a very calm winter.
“Some of those guys who haven't committed are really stressed,” Randolph explained. “I am glad that I have been able to just relax the last couple of months.”
As he moves forward, Randolph won't be worrying about making any decisions; instead his emphasis is on being able to move better.
“My flexibility is my biggest focus,” Randolph offered. “I gotta get more flexible. That's my biggest goal before heading to Tennessee this summer.”
Randolph was hosted by first-year Vol Brent Brewer, whom the Kell High School product called a great guy and someone who gave him even more insight to the program.
Currently, Rivals.com ranks Randolph as a 3-star prospect.
