Santos hopes to visit again

Van (Texas) inside linebacker Dalton Santos verbally committed to Oklahoma State last fall and has only seen his recruitment to continue to heat up since then.

"I've still been hearing from quite a few schools, really," Santos said. "I'm still hearing from Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, TCU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan, and of course Oklahoma State."

Santos took in Arkansas' spring game this past weekend, but he expects that to be the last visit he makes for a while.

"I really enjoyed my trip to Arkansas. We had a really good time there," he said. "I'm not sure which direction we'll be going next. I'm really not too sure when I'll be making my next round of visits. We'll probably do some things this summer, but I'm not sure if we'll wait until the fall for official visits or not. I'll be taking them, I just haven't really gotten set on when yet."

The Red Raiders hosted Santos on an unofficial visit a few weeks ago. As it stands right now, Tech looks to be in good position to receive another visit from the 6-foot-2, 245-pounder, mostly due to the relationship Santos has built with assistant coach Sam McElroy.

"Oh yeah. I'm going to make another trip to Lubbock. I'm thinking about taking one of my official visits there, or just going on an unofficial visit to hang out for a few days and watch a game maybe," he said. "Either way I definitely see myself making another trip to see them, though."

"Coach McElroy is a tremendous guy and we get along really well. He's a great dude and he's got a good sense of humor. He's a straight shooter too. He'll tell you how it is and he'll tell you what he thinks. He's not going to play with you or mislead you. I like him a lot for that. He's just a good guy and he's really down to earth. As far as coaches go, you can't beat him really."

Santos committed to Oklahoma State in October. He currently holds offers from Michigan, Missouri, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
