It has certainly been a newsworthy day in Ohio State recruiting. Three junior prospects from the state of Ohio grabbed verbal offers following the big junior day, including Hudson (Ohio) product Ben Gedeon. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker had previously picked up some big offers from the likes of Boston College, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and was excited to add the Buckeyes to his impressive list.

"I talked to most of the coaches at the junior day," said Gedeon. "I talked to coach (Luke) Fickell and coach (Mike) Vrabel and coach (Urban) Meyer was the one who told me (about the offer). I was psyched. I was really excited about it. I had hoped they would offer and for it to finally come was exciting."

Gedeon made the trip with his father and the two were able to get a good look at Ohio State and also interact with some of the new members of the coaching staff for the first time.

"It was a good day, we got to see a lot of the facilities and we got to go to the basketball game which was a great game," he said. "My dad liked it and I enjoyed it a lot and we're excited to learn more about Ohio State."

As of now, there are no more junior day visits on Gedeon's schedule but he does expect to get out for some spring practices at some point.

"No more junior days planned right now," he said. "I know I'll be taking some more unofficial visits during the spring. I'll probably go to Stanford and Michigan State, those are two schools that I haven't been to that I want to check out."

Though it is still very early in the process, Gedeon doesn't see himself as a player that will take things into his senior season.

"It would be nice to maybe make a decision before my senior year and maybe getting it out of the way," he said. "I'm not positive right, as time goes on it will probably be more clear."
