Jones Has Major ECU Connections

You could say that Isaiah Jones knows football. The 6-foot, 1-inch 170 pound wide receiver for Austin High School in Austin, Texas has grown up with football.

It's in his blood. His father, Robert Jones, played linebacker for the East Carolina team that won 11 games and was ranked ninth in the nation in 1991. He went on to win two super bowls with the Dallas Cowboys. During his 10 year career he also played for the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Arizona Cardinals.

His uncle is Jeff Blake. He was the quarterback for that 1991 ECU team and he too went on to the National Football League. He played for the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears during a 14 year pro career. Moreover, Isaiah's brother Cayleb, who also attended Austin High School and played wide receiver along with his brother, will be playing football for the University of Texas this fall.
