Vols face Hoyas in big one tonight

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Tennessee (4-1) visits the nation's capitol tonight to tangle with Georgetown (4-1) as part of the SEC/Big East Challenge. The match-up should be an excellent gauge for Cuonzo Martin and his team and also the kind of game that could pay dividends as part of an NCAA tournament resume in March.

While technically tonight's game is taking place on a neutral court, at the Verizon Center home of the NBA's Washington Bullets, the contest is for all intents and purposes a home date for the Hoyas.

The Vols have already seen some quality competition this season, coming up short in their biggest test to date against a solid Oklahoma State team.

The Hoyas' lone loss to this point came last week when they pushed No. 1 Indiana to overtime before losing 82-72. Not the sort of defeat that exactly hurt their reputation as a quality squad.
