Clayborn seeing results from workouts
Recruiting is over for Jamaal Clayborn but the hard work is only beginning.
The Mississippi State offensive line signee has already started the Bulldogs training program and is already seeing huge results.
"It's not that bad in the weight room, it's what they expect you to do as far as running," Clayborn said. "It's a whole lot of conditioning. The strength workouts are kind of my strong suits."
Clayborn has already shed 21-pounds from his 6-foot-4 frame since his official visit to Starkville on Jan. 18 and is down to 316-pounds.
The Jackson, Miss., native has been in touch with several other instate MSU signees this spring and have been encouraging each other and keeping one another accountable.
"I've basically just been talking to Ashton Shumpert and Gabe Myles" Clayborn said. "I've been trying to keep up with a few of the guys and talk about the workouts. We're just ready to go up there and make a name for ourselves."
On signing day, Clayborn was invited to the Mississippi Hall of Fame for a ceremony along with several other metro area standouts but opted to sign at Jackson Academy in front of his friends, family, teammates and coaches.
