USC offers Rivals Camp MVP
The USC coaching staff had a busy day sending out a new round of offers and after they reviewed the film of Adarius Pickett and met him at the recent junior day the El Cerrito, Calif., cornerback landed one of them.
Pickett, the defensive MVP at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles, is not naming favorites or whether USC jumps to the top of his list but the Trojans have definitely impressed him and it's a big offer to consider.
"USC is USC," Pickett said. "It's a very big offer."
Heading to the USC junior day, plus his excellent performance at the Rivals Camp and the publicity that came with it and the USC staff looking over his film again sealed the deal.
New defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast has been familiar with Pickett from his days on the Cal coaching staff so that could have helped as well.
USC is a major one to consider but Pickett does not plan to make any decisions this early in his recruitment.
"They just said they got out of the defensive backs meeting and coach Pendergast likes me a lot so they feel like it was about that time," Pickett said.
"Coach (Lane) Kifffin said, when I went down for the junior day, my personality and my character really sealed the deal.
"As of right now, with them being in the game they jump to the top with a bunch of other schools that are up there. It's another school to really consider now. USC is a big-time school."
The next steps are unknown for Pickett, who also has offers from Arizona State, Cal, Nevada, UCLA, Utah and Washington State.
Another trip to USC could happen this summer for camp but for right now he's going to sit back and bask in the glory of getting another major offer.
"I'm going to talk with my family," Pickett said. "They want me to come to their camp in the summer time so I'm considering maybe doing that. I don't know yet."
