Vols get big boost in Barton

Tennessee went into scramble mode at the point guard position earlier this month with the news that Trae Golden wouldn't be back for his senior season. With no clear cut successor on the roster, dealing with a potential black hole in the backcourt looked like a major concern for Cuonzo Martin and the Vols.

Martin took a big step towards shoring that concern up on Sunday with the news that Memphis transfer Antonio Barton had chosen to enroll at Tennessee, where he'll immediately be eligible in the 2013-14 season.

The news came via a twitter post from Barton's brother Will, a former Memphis player who just finished his rookie season with the Portland Trailblazers.

"My bro Antonio Barton has decided to attend the university of Tennessee for his senior year where he will be allowed to play right away," the elder Barton tweeted on Sunday.
