The state of the Vols with Dave Hart pt. 1

The office bears more personal touches; more photos, more mementos, more furniture.

Most visible? The high-definition TV that's centered prominently in the office of the University of Tennessee's Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics, Dave Hart. Still-frame highlights across every sport on campus play on a continuous loop, barely running their course as Hart spends a day-ending more than 30 minutes with in something of an informal State of Rocky Top address.

The topics range from Tennessee's ongoing negotiations with multiple apparel companies to Hart's stance on coaching contracts in general, as well as some football- and basketball-specific insight. The veteran college administrator, now through his first 27 months helming the UT athletics industry, also will discuss neutral-site scheduling in general and from a timetable standpoint (hint: it's coming perhaps sooner than some realize), as well as the ever-broadening scope of offering and receiving verbal scholarship commitments.
