Vols look for win in Starkville tonight
For the third straight season Tennessee (16-11, 7-7) finds itself staring down the barrel of a pressure packed finish to the regular season. Once again, the Vols have played themselves into the unenviable position of having to play their best basketball of the season at the finish line if they hope to break a two year NCAA tournament drought.
That task got infinitely harder thanks to Saturday's damaging loss to Texas A&M, a development that gave the Aggies, ranked No. 118 in the RPI, a season sweep of the Vols and did untold damage to Tennessee's postseason resume´.
It seems beyond obvious to state that the Vols probably need to win their last four in addition to hanging around the SEC tournament in Atlanta into the weekend if they're going crack the field of 68.
The march to try and close out the regular season with a four game win streak starts tonight in Starkville against Mississippi State (13-14, 3-11).
Unfortunately for the Vols, they're completely accustomed to being in this spot.
