Turnovers A Bright Spot For Defense

Tennessee's second-scrimmage of the spring wasn't a dazzling piece of art, but it's probably the kind of day that a coaching staff can get a lot of mileage out of. There were enough good things for some confidence to be taken away, but enough bad to keep everyone's undivided attention in the film room.

If you have to assign the title of 'winner' to someone, that tag probably belongs to the defense simply based on the fact that the offense was forced into multiple turnovers without balancing the sheet with many dominating plays of its own.

The defense forced and recovered four fumbles on Saturday, recovered two and also came away with an interception.

Those numbers put a smile on defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's face.
