Ellis trims list, sets two in-home visits
Perry Ellis took a giant step forward in his recruitment. The No. 19 ranked player in the 2012 class, not only cut his list to four, but scheduled two in-home visits, which will take place in September.Just minutes ago,
"Perry Ellis is considering scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky and Wichita State," Heights High School head coach Joe Auer told Jayhawk Slant on Thursday night. "Perry felt Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky and Wichita State had spent the most time recruiting him and had shown the most interest throughout his recruitment.
"These are the schools that Perry feels most comfortable with," he added. "It wasn't an easy process for him, but it's something he wanted to do. Duke had recently got involved with Perry, but it was just too late, and other schools had spent a lot of time recruiting him."
While no official visits have been scheduled at this time, Ellis, the 6-foot-8, 220-pound combo-forward from Wichita, Kan., is expected to take a number of official visits before reaching a final decision.
However, according to Auer, two in-home visits have been scheduled to take place in September.
"Kansas and Kansas State will visit Perry at his home on September 9," said Auer. "I know those two schools plan to come right away and spend time with Perry and his family."
