Gruden highlights coaches clinic

Gruden on Bray:

"I spent some time with him today. He's a great looking kid. He's 6-6. There's no question he can throw the ball. It's about him choking this opportunity. Getting with this receiving corp. There's no question they have some great receivers. And getting with coach Chaney, mastering this offense, putting his spin on it and winning games. There's no question he has the physical talent to be an outstanding player. He just has to go prove it daily on the practice field, in the meeting room and on gameday. Hopefully that happens."

Gruden on the spread offenses:

"I coached the senior bowl three times and a couple of times there were quarterbacks and centers who had never executed a conventional center/quarterback exchange. I have officiated flag football for seven on seven tournaments in Florida. Eighty teams participate and not one team is taking a direct center/quarterback exchange. So the typical three step drops, the five step drops, seven step drops, they aren't a part of football. If you took out all the bubble screens and funnel screens some offenses don't have much of a passing game. So the game is changing. It starts in high school, it goes to college and its coming to the NFL."

Gruden on whether it's easier to coach a college player or a pro player:

"I think it's easier to coach a pro player. A guy says coaching those players has to be tough. Not really. They are making a million dollars and that guy wants to keep making a million dollars. So he's probably going to do what the team wants him to do. Some of these young players have to decide how much passion they have for the game. Do they really want to be a great college player? Do that want to be an NFL player? Do they want to get a degree? I much do they really want to be as good as they can be. These are young kids that are just finding their way in life. So I think that is a little more challenging. To be honest with you, some of these guys don't stay around as long as the used to."
