Quick HiTs: Worley shows Vols' support

Justin Worley donned a red, quarterbacks jersey and an sling on his right arm as he returned to the practice field to lend moral support to his Tennessee teammates in their preparation for Saturday's game at Missouri.

With Worley sidelined, Joshua Dobbs continued at the helm of the first-team offense while Riley Ferguson worked predominantly with the second-team offense. Nathan Peterman got more work, but Peterman continues to have to readjust to gripping the football.

Donning green, non-contact jerseys were: A.J. Branisel, Jacob Carter, Justin Coleman, Brian Randolph, Byron Moore, Drae Bowles and Josh Smith.

Head coach Butch Jones dialed up the intensity and motivation on the microphone, urging players to seize the opportunities ahead this month. Jones also had what appeared to be a new sign on the practice field that read "Only Inspired Individuals Allowed."

In drills, special teams were a heavy focus and Zach Azzanni demanded an extra level of physicality from his wide receivers.

In the secondary, health remains a concern. Randolph and Coleman remain limited, though Jones has repeatedly said both players will be available on Saturday against the 10th-ranked Tigers.

Max Arnold, Malik Foreman and Devaun Swafford, as well as Jalen Reeves-Maybin all continue to glean extra work in the secondary.

Tennessee will leave mid-day Friday for Columbia, Mo., in an effort to snap a long road losing streak. The Vols continue to rep a variety of players in the backfield in flanking Dobbs with veteran players such as Marlin Lane and Rajion Neal.

VolQuest.com will have full updates throughout the evening following interviews with assistant coaches, and we'll have the weekly column from Brent Hubbs on Thursday, a more in-depth look at the efforts involved in the Vols' APR scores, Austin Price's weekly video feature and more, plus War Room late Thursday, predictions Friday and much more.
